Estyn inspection

Our inspection dates are from Monday 22nd – Thursday 25th June 2015. As you can appreciate school life will get a little hectic over the next few weeks in preparation. Please remember to complete the questionnaire located inside the booklet and return to school by Wednesday 3rd June. Thankyou.

National tests

Pupils in Years 2,3,4,5 & 6 have completed their National reading and maths tests. The results of these will be distributed along with the end of year reports at the end of the Summer term.

Llanrhaeadr fun day

It was great to see so many pupils and parents represent and support Ysgol Bro Cynllaith at the football fun day last Saturday. Well done to all the football players, who put in a great performance, (and the parent coaches!)

Llansilin fun day

This will be held this Sunday 24th May at the Wynnstay. Some of the school pupils will be dancing around the Maypole and will also be running a stall in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.

Koinobori – Japanese Childrens’ day

We had a great day down at the River Cynllaith on Tuesday 5th May. We found out that the river is very healthy due to the large variety of fresh water creatures in it – we even caught a tiny salmon! We also designed and painted flags, which can be seen in the storytelling area of the garden. Thank you very much to Dewi, Lisa and Jeffrey for all their help on the day. There are even bigger plans in the pipeline for next year!

PC Gayle Jones

Our new school liaison officer is PC Gayle Jones. She will be visiting the different year groups within the school each term. This partnership aims to give pupils opportunities to enhance their knowledge, understanding, behaviour, attitudes, values and skills regarding: Substance Education, Anti-Social Behaviour and Personal Safety. On Monday 11th May she spoke to pupils in Year 1 & 2 about People who help us.

Swimming

Harvey Hawkins Brown took part in the 4 Area swimming gala at the Flash at Welshpool on Friday 15th May, where he came 3rd in the backstroke. Also Ffion Evans in Year 2 completed her 2000 metres after school at Oswestry Leisure Centre. Congratulations and very well done to you both.

Wishing you all a lovely half term break and we will see you when we return on MONDAY 1st JUNE.
