Estyn have started carrying out virtual engagement visits across schools in Wales. We received our virtual call on Tuesday 10th November. We had the opportunity to discuss the impact of the current situation on teaching, curriculum and professional learning since September. We also discussed how the current context has affected our approaches in relation to the foundation phase. It was a professional discussion based on our experiences and practice. The outcome of this call will be collated to form a report for the Welsh Government.
The Health & Safety executive are also conducting visits to schools, to ensure we are Covid-19 compliant and safe. We were visited on Tuesday 10th November and the officer was very pleased with the comprehensive Risk Assessment and arrangements we had put in place to minimise the risks of Covid. The information gathered will be collated and shared with the local authority.
