On Monday 4th March we will be going to Park Hall farm. The children will need to wear their school uniform, bring a snack for the bus, a packed lunch and drinks as well as a warm coat and wellies or boots (in a separate bag as they will get muddy).
The Cross Country event at Ysgol Llanfyllin is now due to take place during the school day on Wednesday 6th March, between 10 and 12 noon. The pupils who have been selected to take part will be informed today.
World Book Day – The children are welcome to come into school dressed as a character from a book (ideally we would like them to bring the book along with them to show everyone) OR they can choose to wear their uniform. It is not an own clothes day!
We will not be having a school eisteddfod this year as we are busy competing in the Urdd Eisteddfod. We have received a grant to help pay for Urdd membership for the pupils in Class 2 and they have already submitted prose entries. All of the children will be entering a range of other competitions.
Transforming Education – On the 27th February 2024, the Council’s Cabinet considered the Objection Report in respect of the proposal to close Llangedwyn C. in. W School from 31st August 2024. The Objection Report is available on the Council’s website: Llangedwyn Church in Wales School – Powys County Council. The Cabinet agreed to proceed with implementation of the proposal. The Council has now published a Decision Letter which is below and is also available on the Council’s website.
